ALP Grammar I (041/042) is a course for advanced beginners that meets for six hours each week. Students who take this course have passed ALP Foundations Grammar or took the CELT test
and were placed in this level. In this course, we study the simple present, present progressive, simple past, past progressive, and future tenses along with modals, pronouns, prepositions,
adjectives, adverbs, time clauses, count and non-count nouns, and comparatives and superlatives. At the end of the course, you earn a grade that is the average of your test and quiz grades (95%) and
the quality of your grammar journal (5%). Completed daily homework and class participation are expected. What is a grammar journal? It is an extra assignment of 20 pages of writing each
of which concentrates on one assigned structure such as frequency adverbs, non-progressive verbs, possessive pronouns.
