Communication Management Naming Standards
As we continue with the implementation of Datatel, the Communications Management module may become an important function of various offices. The Communications Management module is used by anyone who is responsible for tracking correspondence between an office and students, prospects or financial aid applicants. This module handles outgoing and incoming correspondence, document tracks, correspondence request tracks, and correspondence processing.
The Admissions Officehas implemented Datatel as their primary business tool. This utilityrequires the establishment and maintenance of documents, tracks and requests within the Communications Management module.
In order to maintain a consistent flow of information throughout the integrated system spanning all offices, the following naming convention for establishing incoming and outgoing documents, requests, and tracks is proposed:
1st letter for Office
2nd letter for Type of correspondence (Document,Request,Track,etc)
